This is pretty funny. Because just 3 months ago, I was telling all of my friends with HoD's to get rid of them quick due to the fact that +5 energy mod weapons will become a common drop in the near future. Only one fo them actually took heed to my advice, and now he thanks me greatly =)

I don't see what the fuss is all about. A reputable trader/pvpr Vanquisher mentioned after the factions preview that he had a sword drop with +10 energy(can't remember the name of it). No one believed him then.

The only people this is hurting are those whom bought hod swords and sold them for increasingly ridiculously higher prices since the nerf, hence the reason they reached up to 500k, about 1 month ago. These people deserve what they received, only because they were greedy.

I only have 1 hod sword that I use for farming, and yes the +5 nrg always helps a bit in a pinch or tight spot, but I could farm without it. The only reason I wanted to sell my hod sword is because I knew about this 3 weeks ago from a friend who knows a " tester". I am sure I am not the only one this information was leaked to, but I was waiting till the last minute to sell mine.

Even if I couldn't sell it, I am sure the price would remain relatively high on hod swrds with 10% furious and 20% enchant mods, or other perfect mod combinations, which would keep the price somewhat higher because of the upgrades. It is hard to find 10% furious and 20% enchant mods for less than 80k each, and other mods such as +30 sword pommels are still at 100k.

I am sure that farmers with perfect hod swords would still be able to sell their sword to the right person, for the value of the mods + a few k. Afterall, the sword still does what it is intended to do.

I can just see it now all those current successful HoD bidders on the auction site rushing to their nearest church lighting candles, sacrificing virgins and ravaging goats, (always did get the last two mixed up), praying for a new bidder

In LA last night I saw 1 HoD Seller, and 7 HoD Buyers.

Seems like it isnt the sellers getting mad, its the buyerrs trying totake this to their advantage.

The average person was (jokingly) offering 10-20k for unmodded HoD swords. So even if you WANTED to sell them in there, it'd be impossible because you were bombarded with offers much lower than its worth, even if its not one of a kind.

The validity of the image has been confirmed by site mod in game.

Whether it is real or fake is no longer up for discussion.

Its verified and very real.

Everyone's treating people who had HoD swords, and payed a large amount of coin, as people who should be punished... because? Get real. The people who made a crapload of money out of the HoD swords have done so... the real people it effects is the people that saved up for so long to have one, then bought one, then got screwed over...

That's who it really effects... it's not funny or cool. It's just crap, period. The whole issue couldn't have been handled any more poorly by the game developers.

Thanks for that Hockster! do appreciate it.

Yes I suppose people who payed this kind of money for 'that little bit extra' are indeed going to be very sad...

However, to pay such a hideous amount of gold for something in the first place!! ... meh, I have no sympathy!

Two things:

1. It's not real money.

2. It's a speculative market.

This is a good life lesson, don't buy something "unique" in a universe where the rules can change.

(Of course, easy for me to say, I've never had 500k to lose!)

A tip...if you have an enchanting sword pommel or enchanting axe grip, expect their values to skyrocket if these +5 energy weapons start to proliferate.

I'm now sad that I put my 20% sword pommel on my HoD sword a few days ago....oh well, I'll continue to use my HoD and reap the benefits.
